GridOptix is our flagship product that allows users to quickly create, run and analyze market price simulations. This powerful cloud-based tool simulates power dispatch and flows across WECC. GridOptix reports key stats including hub prices, RPS, carbon production, and resource adequacy metrics alongside its hourly level output.
GridOptix uses real weather in its simulations making it easy to correlate weather inputs across models so that weather from the same historical years can be used in both your GridOptix market simulations and your IRP portfolio analyses.

With hydro power making up over 25% of WECC capacity, good simulations require detailed and precise handling of hydro, which is notoriously difficult to model. Our patent pending hydro optimization technology simulates the realistic dispatch of cascading hydro projects. It was developed after years of extensive hydro operations experience. GridOptix utilizes Semaphore Energy’s detailed hydro models which account for streamflows and storage of the cascading hydro in WECC.
